Internet Bank Branch to Open in Nebraska
-- The State Bank of Hildreth Chooses nFront's Internet Branching System --
HILDRETH, Neb. Oct. 15, 1997 - The State Bank of Hildreth is opening one of the first fully transactional Internet branches in the state of Nebraska. The bank has selected nFront, a leading provider of Internet banking for community banks, to help establish this goal.
nFront, which has 12 banks using their nHome™ Internet banking solution, will enable customers of The State Bank of Hildreth to do transactions remotely using the Internet. The State Bank of Hildreth is located in Hildreth, Nebraska, population 346. With assets of $23 million, the bank serves a community in which grain and livestock production drive the economy.
A key component of the bank's Internet strategy is provided by the bank's core data processor, First Commerce Technologies. FCT Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mike Tadlock, said, "We're pleased to offer a premier Internet banking solution to our customers. The State Bank of Hildreth is our first customer to sign up for this service and will have an Internet presence that will rival or exceed any site nationwide."
With nHome, customers can open new accounts, apply for loans, view account balances and history, transfer funds, pay bills electronically, view personal information on record at the bank, generate reports based on customer activity, download Active Statements into personal financial management software, interact with customer service representatives via e-mail, and have access to a bank that is open, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
"It was important for us to be the first in the market to implement an Internet banking branch," said Ross Knott, President and CEO of The State Bank of Hildreth. "In addition to better serving our customers, we intend to extend the bank's reach throughout the state of Nebraska as well as the rest of the nation."
According to officials, the bank did an exhaustive review of Internet banking systems before selecting nFront.
